Redistribution of Wealth

Here is a creative approach to redistribution of wealth as offered in a local newspaper…

“Today, on my way to lunch, I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read, “Vote for Obama, I need the money.” I laughed.  Once inside the restaurant, I noticed that my server had on an “Obama 2008″ tie. Again, I laughed, as he had given away his political preference — just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came, I decided not to tip the server, but explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. “He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need — the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10, and told him to thank the server inside, as I had decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
“At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment, I realized that the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn, even though the actual recipient needed the money more. “I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.”
IS REDISTRIBUTION OF SOMEONE ELSE’S WEALTH A GREAT IDEA?     OR IS IT………

I love your social experiment. That’s amazing that you had the guts to do that. How funny. It’s good to see people with enough sense to see through the redistribution of wealth concept. Let the people who earn the money decide to give it away on their own. We’ll all feel better.

  2. It’s funny that some people are for redistribution as long as its someone else’s money.
    Keep up the good posts.

Great post. Government cannot give out money to anyone without taking it from someone else. This fact seems to have escaped too many people.
